DRIVING FOR THE BALLPARK

Texas DOT is offering Houston Astros speciality license plates. The plates highlight the Stros primary logo. A portion of the license fee goes to the Harris County-Houston Sport Authority. The Authority will use the proceeds for maintenance and improvements at Minute Maid Park. 

What was 3,499th?

In 2008 the Philadelphia Phillies AAA minor league team will be called the Leigh Valley IronPigs. The moniker contest had 3,500 entries. The IronPigs name refers to the area's steel industry.
